Kabyle Grammar in English

I am a native English speaker. I have been looking for a grammar book so that I can learn some of the Kabyle language. I have only been able to find two or three for sale over the internet, and they are all in French. I intend to learn French in the future, but even if I do I may still have a hard time learning Kabyle from a French language Grammar book. Does anyone know of a Kabyle grammar that has been published in English? Does one even exist? Is there a grammar book of any Amazigh language in English?

I think it won't be easy to find Kabyle grammar books that are written in English. I don't think there are any. I'm afraid you'll have to start by learning French first.

I came across a Tamazight grammar book in English on Amazon.com once, Check them out.
There are a dozen unpublished graduate theses that you might find online written on the Berber languages in English, mostly linguistic stuff. Google is your best alley in finding any at all.
There’s also an introduction to Tamazight (Libyan Berber) that you can find if you follow this link http://www.libyamazigh.org/ .

I hope this will help if not then you ll have to learn French I guess :P

My advice is to learn Kabyle from a kabyle speaker directly since I do not lknow of an english grammar book for the kabyle language. I know of an american friend who learned kabyle from the method tizi bwuccen. Look around you for amazigh people that can help you and good luck in your endeavor. I am a kabyle but i live on the east coast.

This is a full time idiot. He probably does know that, in this side of the world, we see French as frogs and no more. I have pity for most Kabyles that live in France...I pray for you everyday, in English of course.

As for learning Kabyle via the English language, there is nothing more easier. Tamazight is the nearest language to English.

There is a book called: Among the Berbers of Algeria by Anthony Wilkin. Written around 1900. This is an excellent book, better than the 1000's of books written by any frog (except Gabriel Camps).

I am dead serious. It is up to the youngster of the french suburb to get some change for his "being French". After all, he/she is a French citizen. If he is victimized or discriminated against, he has every right in the world to rebel and demand his rights.

let me remind you that american blacks rioted back in the 60s ,they forced the american society and the establishment to take them seriously as citizens of the country with "rights and obligations".

of course i don't approve of the methods used by rioters in france,but i understand their motives ,i see it more as a cry for s.o.s aimed at the french society as a whole .

the problem in europe is that the "white europeans" are in denial ,they don't admit that their societies is as diversified as the american or canadian ones.

europeans claim that their countries are countries of "values" and not of ethnicities ,the reality on the ground is totally different , europeans are "cultural segregationists" and a big chunk of its populace believe in their "racial supremacy".

the french non-european minorities fought for decades against discriminations, it was the french society that didn't want to hear anything about it and slammed the door of dialog shut !

the french finaly found the REAL ROOT of the problem , it is the african POLYGAMIST culture !!!! again the french is blaiming the OTHER , i wonder what mamadou,kolibaly and keita are thinking !!!
