Khalid Izri: surdoué de la musique amazigh...

Le musicien berbère, Khalid Yachou (1969, nom d'artiste Khalid Izri) est né à Melilla, enclave espagnole du nord du Maroc. En tant que berbère dans une région de langue hispanique, il lutte pour son identité. Via son oncle, il se familiarise avec la musique berbère et commence à s'intéresser de plus en plus à sa propre culture. Il s'applique à la guitare, l'harmonica, et les percussions et imite dans un premier temps le répertoire d'icônes comme Idir, Djurdjura, Jamal Allam ou le moins connu poète-musicien Whalid Mimoun, enfermé pendant deux ans pour avoir enregistré son premier album en Berbère.
La musique de Khalid Izri puise ses racines dans les traditions berbères, mais est clairement influencée aussi par les musiques africaines et méditerranéennes. Elle se caractérise par de grandes variations rythmiques et mélodiques. Si Izri joue de la guitare, de la flûte et des percussions, c'est indéniablement sa voix impressionnante qui révèle sa force.

I heard also abouth it. i think it was publiched by journal tawiza. khalid izri told abouth that in un interview. the comming new CD is in coerprating with jurdjura :D

you are right awma. it is something beautiful to see 2 artists from several parts of tamazgha working together.
specialy for ouer Riffains artists. becouse as you know the moroccan facist arabo goverment are using since 1959 un appartheid regime against ouer artists. you know why? becouse ouer artists are real revolutionar singers (like walid mimoun, khalid izri, allal, ithran, ithri, twatoun..ect) and ouer facist goverment likes only artists that jumbs for tourists for mony. and somebody like khalid izri is un arifi amazigh with principes. its maybe a good start for the future for other kabyle ft Rif duo's.

Elle de la région de gourrama province Errachidia au SUd- ESt les ait seghrouchen ont une langue à chval entre le tamazight du sud est et le rifain !
